Profile

What is Purple Daisy?

Purple Daisy is an independent Mental Healthcare service, set up and run by Mental Health Nurses who have many years of experience in providing care and support for people suffering mental health problems.

We aim to provide a service that no longer exists within the NHS.
When we started nursing, many years ago. Mental Health Services were still provided in the large victorian hospitals. People suffering from mental health problems were admitted to a ward within the hospital and they stayed until they were well enough to return home.

Although we wouldn't want to return to these times, we feel that too many people are slipping through the gaps in services provided by the NHS today. The services that exist are underfunded and understaffed, waiting lists are long, people are discharged from services early and support can be patchy and rarely provided by a consistent worker.

Our aim is to fill these gaps and provide a service that matches our clients' needs. Unfortunately, as we do not have funding, we need to charge for this service, however, we have set our prices at a rate that allows us to take home the same pay as if we were working in the NHS. This, in our opinion, offers excellent value for money.

If you are suffering from a mental health problem, you can contact us today to book a free telephone consultation. We can advise you on accessing NHS services, and we will explain how Purple Daisy can help you recover.

An initial assessment takes approximately 60-90 minutes. This can take place at your home, or at another appropriate venue. This will be a complete assessment of your mental health. You will be sent a copy of this assessment. At the end of the assessment, we will make a plan with you about your current needs and future support. An initial assessment and a copy of your assessment (usually 6-8 pages long) costs £50.

Following your assessment, we offer follow-up visits, either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. During these visits, we will work with you towards your recovery. We will help you overcome your problems using a variety of therapeutic skills and techniques. You will see the same member of staff throughout your time with us. You will continue to receive copies of all the records we keep regarding your care. Follow-up visits cost £40 an hour and are available at a time to suit you.
