Treatments

Periodontal Disease (more commonly known as gum disease) is a serious infection of the
gums and supporting tissues of the teeth. The disease is usually painless at first, but if undetected
and untreated, the bone that supports the teeth in the jaw bone is gradually destroyed, and can lead to tooth loss.
The main cause of periodontal disease is bacterial plaque, a sticky, colourless film that constantly forms on your teeth. However, factors also affecting the health of gums could be smoking, systemic disease, genetics, stress, medication, puberty, pregnancy and menopause. Recent research has found a relationship between periodontal infection and more serious health problems such as chronic heart disease, diabetes and respiratory related diseases. Therefore, good periodontal health is key to a healthy body.

Implants are the most natural replacement for missing teeth. They are often a better alternative to a bridge or dentures. They can also be used to stabalise or replace full dentures. An implant provides a 'fixed' replacement for missing teeth as they are anchored securely into the jaw by means of a small titanium post. Studies show that they are potentially the longest lasting restoration. Orthodontics is no longer just for children. Many adults who have crowded, crooked or protruded teeth can now benefit from the latest techniques. We can offer 'invisible' orthodontics so no one need know you are wearing braces.

Specialist Dentist - Gum Treatment (Periodontics), Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics), Replacement Teeth (Implants), Braces (Orthodontics), Repair or replacement of teeth and supporting tissue (Prosthodontics)
